My Scooter: Genuine Buddy 125

I just recently purchased my scooter. I was jealous of Tracey riding around. So I bought a used Genuine Budy 125. If Tracey's Vespa is the Lexus of scooters, then mine is definitely the Honda of Scooters. It's fast, zippy, stable, and fun. But made with really cheap plastic materials. The good part is that parts are really cheap, and there are a ton of aftermarket accessories.

Compared to the front wheel on Tracey's Vespa, you can tell mine didn't get the same kind of design care.
P1010171
The Speedometer is nice and big.
P1010177
This is something that took some getting used to, but now seems to make a lot of sense. They put the seat release on the ignition. You're usually used to going to the seat to open it. But it makes sense on the ignition since ignition already has some sort of anti-theft safety built in.
P1010178
The bike came with a black back rack, and I hated it. So I changed it to chrome, along with the cowl bars you see here. They're to protect the bike if it falls over.

And there's me in the reflection of the logo.

Tracey's Scooter: Vespa LX 150

This is Tracey's Yellow Vespa Scooter. It's a 150cc LX model. It's really sorta like the Lexus of Scooters. She's named is 'Vesper'.
P1010136
My favorite part of the bike design is the front wheel. It's very similar the very first Vespas. And definitely inspired by an airplane landing gear.
P1010139
Vespa branding on the automatic transmission. All Vespas, and most scooters, come in Automatic these days.
P1010144
A retro exhaust.
P1010150
Vespa name plate.

P1010148
The Key is shaped like a V.
P1010151
Piaggio is the manufacturer of Vespa Scooters.
P1010152
So packed with details, even the handles feature the Vespa name.

Let's go exploring!
P1010088
We found some roads we've never been on.
P1010089
And Found this hidden neighborhood.
P1010093
With a car run off the road...?
P1010096
And pink house.
P1010092
And a house that needs an elevator thing to get to the front door.
P1010109
Tracey on her scoot.

P1010108
Then we found a great view of LA. You can see all the way downtown from Glendale.
P1010116
Me. Pointing the traffic on the 5.
P1010129
Tracey chillin with the scoots.
P1010119
And funny face!

Nintendo Entertainment System

The NES was my very first game console. We had a Magnavox Odyssey before the NES, but I never played it. I honestly didn't even know it existed. This is my original NES, I've hung on to it since I was 5 years old.

Modern video games all use a modified USB for the controller port. Even the weird looking ones from the PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube. I always wondered what kind of port these old systems used.

I don't hear a fan on the NES, so I'm not sure if these vents are functional.

No Stereo for you.

My favorite game on the system was of course Metal Gear. Though I didn't know until I was much much older that the US version of the game was pretty terrible compared to the Japan version.

My absolute favorite part of the NES was the process of inserting a game. Pushing it in, pushing it down, and closing the lid. It was such a nice ritual, it really felt like you were doing something important.

Tracey's Painting - Bathing Woman

This is a painting that Tracey did awhile back. It hangs in our bathroom over the towel rack.

Tracey's mom framed it for us when we moved into our place. I love the frame almost as much as the painting.
